内容提要

本书系《新英语教程》（第二版）阅读第二册的补充读物，共选编短文30篇，每篇长度

400―800词不等。选文涉及文化差异、科普知识、历史趣闻、人物传记、语言典故、广告、小说

等。文风活泼，编排由浅入深，生词量严格控制不超过3―4％。文后配有注释和练习，书后附
